Course Overview:

Business 100 is an elective course offered only to Academy students in the 10th grade; is an introduction to business basics. It is the first, foundational course in the business and finance industry pathway sequence of courses. The course provides an overview to all aspects of starting and operating a small business. Students obtain hands-on experience in human resources, finances, accounting and marketing. The class includes instruction in developing a career plan. Business 100 also prepares students to use the computer as a tool to perform a variety of business applications needed for personal and school use. Keyboarding is infused the first six weeks. Class instruction is done entirely through interaction with Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher.  Students also learn Windows Movie Maker and will gain experience in building a website. This course is currently taught by Mr. Alan Walter
